Always double-check the spelling of names. Your memory is not reliable. There are so many variations on a single name. A few examples: Terry, Teri, Terrie, and so on.
Same as number one mistake, wrong
date. Before engraving, make sure you have everything in writing. Make sure to
keep in mind that engraving cannot be wiped out.
Wrong! Engraving is the same as
printing! As farmers plowing his fields, we use diamonds to plow the surface of
the engravings we create. Alternatively, we can utilize lasers to remove a thin
layer of the engraving material's surface. We don't apply any ink to the
surface during these engraving
methods. Note: Diamond drag and laser engraving are the most frequent engraving
methods.
No metal can't be engraved, no matter
how hard you try. When a metal surface is rough, it is nearly impossible to
read the inscriptions because of this. Engravings are battling with the
roughness of the surface. Plated metal surfaces are also common on gifts and
other metal objects. Plated surfaces can be engraved without difficulty. They
have bad plating every now and then. If you engrave on it, you'll see the
terrible plating. The plating breaks off in the problematic areas. Only 5% of
the time does this happen.
If you've taken a gift to an award
store only to be told, "It can't be engraved," you've made a mistake.
Those who say it can't be done claim that no one can. It's impossible to
engrave it in reality. You may be able to outsource the engraving. Watches are
a wonderful example. The back of the product is covered in various markings,
leaving little opportunity for engraving. We engrave in an arc several times
around the circumference to get around this.
If you take it to a jewelry store,
engraves are prohibitively pricey. Engraving is uncommon in most jewelry
retailers. Send it out; they've done it. Both the jewelry store and the
engraver need to make money to stay in business. It's better to start with an
engraver. Make a dent in your spending. In addition, you don't have to rely on
notes from the jeweler to convey your concerns to the engraver.
There aren't many options for
engraving on small awards and plaques. Get the facts first. Ask about the
engraving options available to you—request customer references from the
engraver. Continue looking for an engraver if they don't.
A jewelry retailer will take forever
to have something inscribed. Sending it out is a time-consuming task. The
shipping time between the jeweler and the engraver can be eliminated by having
the engraving done directly at the engraver's shop (both ways). Deal directly
with the merchant!
The solution is to be polished and
re-engraved (yes and no). Gold and silver, both solid metals, may be polished
and engraved again. However, the majority of jewelry and gift goods are plated.
When the plated surface is polished out, the core metal is exposed. That means
the piece has been completely trashed. Stampings of 10kt, 14kt, etc., indicate
that a piece of gold is solid gold. Sterling Silver will be stamped on the
metal. Re-engraving is possible after buffing out the original engraving.
Almost nothing else can be removed with a buffer. Using the item's pricing is
another way to tell if it can be enhanced. Plating is the most common and least
expensive method of making jewelry. If it's pricey, it's more likely to be made
of solid metal that can be polished and re-engraved if necessary.
We want you to enjoy the process of
